Presentation at IIDEX

Mimi Love (Utile Principal) and Chris Grimley, co-authors of Color Space Style, were recent speakers at IIDEX (the International Interior Design Exposition) in Toronto. Their talk, “Technological Narratives,” made a convincing case that an important aspect of good design is compelling story-telling. Based on lessons learned from writing and illustrating their book, Love and Grimley demonstrated that the graphic design of renderings and diagrams that communicate the concept of a project can be as important as the design of the physical space. They also talked about recent developments in rendering and three-dimensional modeling software that can support the creation of a design narrative.
Maine AIA Keynote Speaker
This past Spring, Tim Love participated on the AIA Maine Design Awards jury and was the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony held at Bowdoin College. His review of the projects was published in AIA Maine’s August newsletter and is available online here.
