The Summer Fellowship is structured as a 10-week opportunity for students to work on Utile’s active design and planning projects while pursuing an independent research agenda. Applicants should not feel limited to apply only to their current academic discipline and are encouraged to submit a brief (one paragraph max.) research statement outlining their desired research agenda and how it integrates with Utile’s work. While the program is structured around the 10-week period for May 31 to August 6, applicants may apply to begin their time at Utile before May 31 and complete it after August 6. The fellowship is intended for current graduate students and very qualified undergraduates.
Utile is interested in highly motivated candidates who are prepared to contribute to our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our office. We encourage applications from women and historically underrepresented groups. This position is available for either fully remote work or “in-person” (per local government health and safety guidelines) at either our Boston or Providence offices.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and portfolio (no more than 10mb) via this form. Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, 3/28/2021. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
