Worcester Main South public engagement process kicks off!

Utile participated in a community workshop last night as part of the Worcester Main South District Planning Study, a MassDevelopment Transformational Development Initiative (TDI), focused on short- and long-term solutions for improving economic development along Worcester’s Main Street between Wellington and King Streets. The meeting featured short presentations and focus groups in which residents worked along with representatives from Utile and MassDevelopment to identify needs and opportunities within the area and lay the groundwork for a District Planning Study, to be developed by Utile. Current elected officials, realtors, residents, and school principals all pitched in to identify crucial issues facing the area, including the need to change perceptions of it, improvements to the streetscape, the need to address drug use and prostitution, and the government’s role in incentivizing investment.

The event was written about in an article in the Worcester Telegram, which can be read here.  We look forward to continuing the engagement process!
