About Darius:
Darius Luo joined Utile in May 2026 as the firm’s dedicated Building Performance Specialist, working closely with the Director of Sustainable Design. He focuses on achieving Passive House certifications, ensuring robust and durable design approaches, as well as advancing Utile’s building performance initiatives. He has years of consulting experience from previously working at Building Evolution Corporation, where he was the lead energy modeler for passive buildings and deep energy retrofits.
Darius graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with a minor in Sustainability Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He won numerous awards during his undergraduate studies, including the President’s Interactive Qualifying Project Award, the Provost’s Major Qualifying Project Award, and the Stephen Salisbury Prize, the last of which is only awarded to 24 out of over 1200 undergraduate students.
In his free time, Darius can be found making color-coded spreadsheets, buying expensive artisanal soap, and spending time with his fluffy decrepit cat in his leaky century-old home. (And, yes, he certainly does have an energy model of his house).
