Nathan Tavares

Summer Research Fellow

About Nathan:

Nathan joined Utile as a Research Fellow in May of 2026. He grew up on Massachusetts’ south coast, where he embraced his Portuguese culture whole heartedly.

Nathan is a recent graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in April 2026. Having the opportunity to study abroad in Italy in the fall of 2025, he took a liking to the idea of a place’s history, looking at how time can affect the production of design. In undergraduate, Nathan focused heavily on model making and photography, exploring how physical models can inform design and represent the work in experimental and exploratory ways. During his years as an undergraduate student he also participated in various design competitions in his free time. He plans to attend Wentworth in the fall of 2026 to complete his Master’s degree.

Outside of the Utile, Nathan can be found riding his bike, playing his guitar(s), or spending time with his cat, Goose.
