About Owen:
Owen is joining Utile for the summer as the Sustainable Materials Communications Fellow. This role focuses on increasing the accessibility of knowledge surrounding sustainable materials and their implementation, with the goal of making tangible improvements to Utile’s environmental impact while catalyzing long-term momentum around more sustainable material research. Owen, who has always had a passion for sustainability, is going into his 5th year at Tulane University in the Bachelor of Architecture program. This past semester, he focused on mycelium cultivation for the built environment and its integration into conventional building systems, as well as traditional Catalan Tile Vaulting. He hopes to carry the work he’s doing this summer into the rest of his career, maintaining a focus on fostering symbiotic relationships with the environments we live in.
