YaJu Lee

About YaJu:

YaJu Lee is an architectural and urban designer currently pursuing a Master of Science in Architecture Studies (SMArchS) in Urbanism at MIT. Her interests lie at the intersection of architecture and urban design, with a particular focus on housing, public
space, and urban density. Originally from Taiwan, YaJu received her B.Arch. from National Cheng Kung University, where her undergraduate thesis, Super Theater, explored urban regeneration and public life through an urban bricolage approach. Her work has also been featured in publications including ta Magazine and Taiwan Architect.

Her professional background spans residential renovation, urban research, and large-scale architectural practice. In Barcelona, she contributed to residential renovations and studies of housing typologies, public space, and street-scale urbanism. She later worked as an architectural designer in Taipei, where she was involved in institutional and healthcare projects across multiple phases of design and coordination.At MIT, she is extending her design practice through spatial analysis, urban data, and emerging computational methods, including machine learning and computer vision, exploring how these tools can support more informed approaches to planning and Design.

Outside of work, she enjoys sketching, painting, shooting film, and playing GeoGuessr. She is also an enthusiastic home cook and baker, always eager to try a new recipe.
