JT Keller

Director of Urban Design and Planning

About JT:

JT joined Utile in 2023 as an urban planner. JT’s commitment to sustainable development combines expertise in GIS analytics, spatial design, land use policy, and public-private finance strategies. Throughout his work, he strives to position himself as a translator: sourcing and distilling complex data about urban systems into clear, visually engaging stories to help stakeholders reach consensus on crucial decisions about our neighborhoods’ futures.

JT received a Master in Urban Planning degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and comes from a background in anthropology and documentary filmmaking. As a Fulbright Scholar and member of Harvard’s Sensory Ethnography Lab, he did extensive fieldwork in Chengdu and Taipei on social life in public spaces. He has also co-authored case studies on teamwork as a researcher in organizational behavior at the Harvard Business School. He considers his roaming path into planning and design a testament to the dynamism of the field — the same dynamic energy that draws him into the tangled streets of Boston. He has been getting lost in the city for a decade, but he will always be a native Clevelander at heart (Go Cavs!)
