Utile is thrilled to be a part of the Zero Greenway development team selected by MassDOT to redevelop the 1.4-acre Parcel 25 in downtown Boston! Led by minority-owned business enterprises (MBE) Peebles Corp. and Genesis Cos., with women-owned business enterprise (WBE) Trademark Partners managing the team, Utile and Moody Nolan (MBE) will serve as collaborating architects on this mixed-use development on this symbolically significant site at the gateway to Chinatown and Downtown Boston.

The Zero Greenway proposal includes 218 units of housing – 40% of which are income-restricted – ground-floor retail, 309,000 square feet of lab and research space, and 121 parking spots. An active civic plaza framed by a dramatic new landscape, designed by Offshoots (WBE), will provide a fitting culmination to the Greenway’s existing network of parks and open spaces.

We are proud to be a part of a team, process, and project centered on diversity and inclusion, and look forward to contributing to a more equitable and sustainable built future in Boston.
