Utile principal Michael LeBlanc will be presenting Utile and Reed Hilderbrand’s work on the City of Boston’s Rethink City Hall & Plaza Master Plan Study at the Docomomo Québec Conference, sponsored by Université du Québec à Montréal, on Friday, May 3rd in Montreal. His session, Revitaliser l’hôtel de ville de Boston, will focus on the vision and roadmap for the future of Boston City Hall and its Plaza, including the team’s assessment of the physical reorganization of city departments, renovations to the plaza, and the creation of stronger connections between City Hall, the Plaza, and the surrounding urban fabric.
Docomomo International is a non-profit organization with 69 Chapters worldwide that is “dedicated to the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the modern movement for nearly 25 years”. Michael is thrilled to share the knowledge and lessons learned from the planning and conservation efforts of one of the United States’ most important modernist municipal buildings with the Québec Chapter of Docomomo.
