Utile receives Out-of-the-Box Award for Boston Living with Water Competition

Utile’s Boston Living with Water team is excited to receive the single “Out-of-the-Box” award for our High Street City; (Gradually) Living with Water entry. The competition, launched by the City of Boston, Boston Harbor Association, Boston Redevelopment Authority, and Boston Society of Architects, called upon the international design community for solutions envisioning a more resilient, more sustainable, and more beautiful Boston adapted for end-of-the-century climate conditions and rising sea levels.

Our team’s entry focused on the 100 Acres section of Fort Point Channel District, representative of the large urban mixed-use redevelopment opportunities across Boston. Our phased approach involves two ground planes, changing in function in response to ongoing development and rising sea levels.
