Utile is leading a team working with the City of Cambridge to develop a new citywide plan. Cambridge is a recognized leader in urban planning, and a significant body of recent work will serve as a foundation for the planning process. The citywide plan will build on this, and will offer six lenses to look at the city’s various planning topics: social equity and diversity, environmental resiliency, character of neighborhoods and squares, a healthy community, a learning community, and coordination with the region. Success of the plan will rest on its ability to engage the entire community, and so the City and team aim to reach as many people as possible and ensure that the dialogue is representative of the city’s diversity. Our team of expert consultants includes Interboro for community engagement and urban design, HR&A for market analysis, and NelsonNygaard for multimodal transportation planning.
