Utile is master planning and designing a new affordable housing neighborhood at Adams Circle in Devens! We are happy to share that MassDevelopment has selected Metro West Collaborative Development’s proposal for the 6.6-acre site, which will bring 65 new affordable homes to the community.
Utile worked with Metro West to develop the site plan, shaping a community of six buildings around shared open space and connections to surrounding trails and neighborhoods. This proposal is just one piece of a larger vision to bring housing and economic development to vacant state-owned land in Devens. These buildings, providing affordable and sustainable homes for households earning 30-80% of area median income, will also be designed by Utile, with construction expected to begin in 2029.
Working across scales at the intersection of policy, planning, and architecture to deliver new affordable homes, this project is distinctly Utile. We’re proud to be a part of this thoughtful plan to address the housing crisis and make lives better for our neighbors in Devens.
