Recently, Bisnow media covered the implementation of Utile’s Watertown Square Area Plan, which was adopted in 2024. The plan seeks to revitalize downtown Watertown through comprehensive redesign, including by-right zoning for over 4,400 housing units, three acres of new public open space, and a reimagined intersection to improve pedestrian access. Utile founding partner Tim Love and senior urban designer Lauren Rapport were featured discussing the plan’s approach to balancing aesthetic vision with financial feasibility for developers. As the article reports, two development projects are already approved under the new guidelines, signaling strong market interest in the revitalization effort.
