Description
Using playful patterns and a restrained color palette, this fitness center repurposes an abandoned subterranean swimming pool in a long-standing residential apartment community to create an inspiring center for wellness. The diagonal arrangement of the light fixtures, wallcoverings and concrete floor stencils recall the gentle movement of the former swimming pool and provide a dynamic shift in scales to stimulate the eye. The varying shades of green walls provide a visual link to the patio located directly outside the fitness room while the wood tones of the fitness studio provide visual warmth. Working with a tight budget, the project makes the most out of these cost-efficient design ideas to transform the space.
