242 Spencer Avenue
Utile is working with non-profit developer The Neighborhood Developers (TND) to revitalize the site of Chelsea’s former French Naturalization Club at 242 Spencer Avenue. The project will create 34 affordable apartments in Chelsea’s Mill Hill Neighborhood, with three units targeted to low income renters with disabilities, and eight units for formerly homeless families. The project site is close to schools, parks, and public transportation, making it an ideal location for working families. After a two-year planning process involving input from the community, 242 Spencer Avenue received state and federal funding in March 2017, and broke ground in October 2017, beginning with the demolition of the existing building. Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018.
