Architizer highlights Utile’s transformation of Boston City Hall
Utile’s work renovating Boston City Hall’s public spaces recently won Architizer’s 2019 A+ Jury Award in the Concepts – Plus-Architecture + Preservation category, and has been featured by Architizer in an article highlighting the value of preserving the iconic Brutalist monument. The article explains how Utile’s transformation has redeemed the building – often previously referred to as the “world’s ugliest” – into a much more transparent, accessible, and welcoming heart for the city and its residents.
Utile’s work on City Hall has included renovations of the lobby and transaction window concourse, wayfinding improvements throughout, and a complete redo of the exterior lighting.
