PlanBeverly kicks off in May!

Utile is working with the City of Beverly, MA on PlanBeverly, a new comprehensive master planning initiative that will address citywide issues such as housing, economic development, transportation, and open space. Utile principal Tim Love and project manager Cory Berg will lead the process in collaboration with consultant team Nelson\Nygaard for transportation planning, Landwise for economic development, and Landworks Studio for landscape architecture.

Also called “Garden City”, Beverly is known for its miles of coastline, public parks, and open spaces. The team is excited to engage the community in this initiative, and integrate sustainable and resilient systems to address climate change risks, meaningful open space planning, and equitable access to the scenic waterfront. Tim Love notes that “it’s rare to find a bustling downtown, thriving business centers, historic residential neighborhoods, stunning coastal landscapes, and extensive conservation lands all in a relatively compact city.”

A kick-off public meeting is scheduled for May 14th from 7–8:30pm at the Beverly Senior Center at 90 Colon Street. You can read more about the project in Beverly set to plan for its future by reporter Paul Leighton in The Salem News.
