We are so happy to share that Senior Associate Rachelle Hassan Ain has received an AIA 2024 Young Architects Award! Congrats to Rachelle and all the other recipients! Thank you for your work, service, and leadership!

Informed by her experiences growing up in diverse, industrial communities in eastern New Jersey and northern Egypt, Rachelle Hassan Ain, AIA, investigates the relationships between environmentalism and the vulnerability of marginalized communities. As an architect and advocate, Ain leverages an inclusive design process to address the critical issues of climate justice and social equity.

Rachelle’s work at Utile has focused on creating sustainable, equitable, and affordable housing, including 1200 Montello, Hotel Grayson, Walnut Street Senior Affordable Housing, and 10 Sunnyside. She is a leader in the firm’s practice to create more sustainable architecture, and co-chairs the Boston and Northeast chapter of the Carbon Leadership Forum.
