We are so excited to have been named the best large architecture firm in the Northeast by The Architect’s Newspaper! This recognition underscores our commitment to innovative design and excellence in the field of architecture.

AN’s Best of Practice Awards reviewed firms of all sizes working in all regions based not only on projects but also each firm’s operations. The jury selected firms that could offer a “snapshot of what practice looks like in 2023” with jury member Andrew Bernheimer saying of Utile that “Architects tend to take themselves for policymakers, but we’re more like pieces of the policy puzzle. Utile’s work showcases an understanding of how architects, designers, and planners can influence policy.” Utile’s Pittsfield Housing Project, photographed by Randy Crandon, also had the honor to be used as the announcement image for the awards.

Visit AN’s website to learn more about the awards and the other firms that were recognized, many of which are Utile’s collaborators and friends.
