Provincetown Harbor Hotel

Utile was hired to reposition the Provincetown Harbor Hotel, formerly the Cape Inn, to appeal to a new market clientele by extensively renovating the conference areas, rooms, common spaces, and landscaped areas. The goal was to update the property while celebrating a nostalgia for the 1960s when the hotel was built. Bright colors, natural materials, and an improved site plan whimsically emphasize the coastal location, while rooms updated with new finishes and furnishings ensure a restful and comfortable visit.

Enhancements to the site plan created a phased landscape with a signature sandy fire pit that helps to reconnect the hotel to the adjacent beach, as well as a redesigned lounge deck, pool area, and bar. Simple, fresh, and crisp furnishings highlight the hotel’s common spaces and rooms, and simultaneously amplify the building’s mid-century aesthetic.

A marine-inspired pallette of natural materials celebrates the area’s long history as not only a favorite vacation spot, but also a home to and inspiration for many artists, craftspeople, writers, and performers.
