Boston University has announced Innovate@BU, its university-wide student innovation initiative, to be housed in the 6,000 square foot BuildLab: IDG Capital Student Innovation Center, designed by Utile. The Commonwealth Ave incubation space – previously a RadioShack – will accommodate student team collaborations, offices for program leaders, and space for innovation-focused events. BuildLab’s highly visible street front location challenged Utile to design an open and inviting environment that also provides private areas for smaller team working sessions. The project is expected to open in January 2018. You can read more about BuildLab in The Boston Globe’s Boston University launches ‘Innovate@BU’.
