1500 Main Street in Weymouth has broken ground!

Owner JM Corcoran & Co, contractor Plumb House, and Utile have broken ground at 1500 Main Street in Weymouth. The transit-oriented, mixed-use development consists of three buildings that contain 237 apartments, indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, and ground floor retail. Construction will proceed toward a phased occupancy with the first building scheduled to be occupied in Fall 2020 and project completion in Summer 2021.

The project is targeting LEED Gold certification, representing a commitment to sustainability in both the architecture and site planning of the project. Thanks to proximity to the MBTA South Weymouth station, local zoning allowed for a reduced parking ratio. Air barrier and unit compartmentalization detailing will be carefully coordinated to maximize occupant comfort and efficiency of mechanical system. High-performance windows will contribute to the overall building envelope integrity while also providing acoustic comfort and separation between the interior and exterior environments.

Utile and landscape architects CHA designed the frontage of the project to enhance the pedestrian experience along Trotter Road with a wide sidewalk, plantings, space for outdoor cafe seating, and street improvements including a crosswalk to the MBTA station and a new sidewalk to Route 18.
